Hart's Reef


55 Gallon (Acrylic) Reef
4-110W VHO lighting with 660 Icecap Ballast; Hydrothruster QV variable speed pump (500 GPH); 3 assorted OTTO Powerheads, adding up to about 600gph; 19” Amiracle Venturi Skimmer (in sump); 15 gallon counter-lit sump. FISH: Bi-color Blenny (Bob); Maroon Clown (Spike~or sometimes “Moron”); Purple Firefish (Zippo); C. Argi (Angel).
CORALS: Lots of Zoanthids; 10 kinds of mushrooms; 2 kinds of Xenia; Colt, Open Brain, Maze Brain, Star Polyps, Green Polyps; Giant Zoanthids~Sand Polyps; Chile Coral, Trumpet Coral, Candycane Coral, Riccordea polyps, Gold Crowned Toadstool;
Cabbage Leather, 2 Torches, Encrusting~Mat Gorgonian. INVERTS: 2 cleaner shrimp; 2 Peppermint shrimp, 10 mixed hermits, 30+snails, couple of hitcher crabs left that I haven’t been able to catch. IN SUMP: Assorted hermits, hitcher crabs, snails, Pistol Shrimp, Macroalgae

17 Gallon custom acrylic (oval shaped) reef
Penguin Hang-on-the-back (HOB) filter with filter media removed
No skimmer; bad lighting (soon to be upgraded to 2x28 PC’s); one tiny Rio PH.
FISH: True Percula Clown, Pearly Jawfish. INVERTS: 2 Cleaner shrimp; 2 hermits, 8 assorted snails. CORALS: Mushrooms, Zoanthids, Orange Finger Gorgonian, Giant Feather Duster.

I apologize to all for not using proper names; I’m lazy If you’d like clarification on something, please don’t hesitate to email me.

I do aquarium maintenance as a side-line; if you want to know how to do something wrong, ask me first! ~ I’ve probably seen it. Currently, my biggest project is improving a 180 gallon Reef that has been allowed to totally run amok.
