General
----------
This thread has the oldest pics at the beginning, and I am sort of "blogging" the progress. So, I'm leaving the older pics in here to show what the tank looked like at various points of time rather than replacing them with new ones.

Equipment
-------------
Oceanic 75G RR
250x2 Double-Ended MH (10K Ushio) + 2x96 CF actinics (Hamilton) - Fixture built by Aquaticco/ReefTankLighting.com
IceCap 250 MH ballasts
PFO ballasts for the CF
MyReef MR-1 skimmer w/ Mag12
MyReef CR-1 Calcium Reactor - Milwaukie regulator- 5lb C02 - ARM media - MAG2 for recirc, Maxijet1200 for feeder pump
Milwaukie SMS115 pH meter
Quiet One 4000 return pump
2 Maxijet 1200s for additional circulation
Kent float valve for gravity fed auto-top off.
Sump is acrylic - approx 20g (like a bio-ball thing with the bio balls removed)
Bare Bottom
Probably 90 lbs rock - includes two large tonga branch peices
Overflow uses a durso style standpipe
150w titanium heater - (Won)

Fish closet behind the wall has a 10g softie nano-tank w/55 watt smartlite, Coralife RO, make up water and a few supplies. The fish closet is actually where the AC/Heat units are for my house, but there is some extra room back there!

History
--------
Built Feb 7, 2004 as a downgrade from my old 120 and 37 tanks. Was looking to consolidate into something with a little less maintenance.

Future plans
----------------
Refugium (maybe)
more circulation / wavemaking - (I have a Sea-Swirl Bought, just not sure I want to disrupt the clean appearance of the top of my tank)

Livestock
-----------

Hammer, Torch, Frogspawn, Candy Cane, Green Zoos, Green and yellow star polyps on bottom of tank, brown polyps, purple dig., purple corky finger, some kind of brown/white/purple tipped acrapora, white acrapora with green polyps, green slimer acropora, several other acros ....[Will update coral list one day]
5 chromis
1 yellow tang
1 six-line wrasse
1 Cinnamon Clown
2 Bubble-tip Anemones (split from 1)
Several red and blue hermits (trying to remove the medium sized blue ones), 100+ dwarf blue hermits, 10+ Cerith snails, 2 fighting conchs, 100+ astrea snails, 10+ margarita snails, a couple bumble bee snails
3 emerald crabs
1 coral banded shrimp
1 porcelain crab

Probably a bunch of other stuff I forgot about.

I removed all the softies from my 37g rock. This 75g tank will be LPS and SPS, but mostly SPS. It does have some zoos and polyps, but that is it for softies. I have a 10g nano for the softies.

And so.... this is how it all began. My semi-blank canvas:

The fish closet behind the tank. This is where I eventually want to move the skimmer. I'll be putting the top-off stuff and calcium reactor back here too.

Cool tank dude!
Those chromis. Do they provide enough visual interest. I'm looking for a schooling fish for my new 150 and think they are the ones.

When I first saw chromis in the LFS I was thinking "what a boring fish." I mean, why get this uni-color blah fish when you can get more interesting and colorful looking fish?

But, yes, now that I have them, they are really cool fish. They school back and forth and play in the current. They are constantly on-the-go. I notice one of them seems to be "the leader". They are cheap too. Even the more expensive places here charge maybe $12-14 for 3 of them (small).

They can get to around 3in or so, but typically you see the little ones in the store. They grow fairly slow. I hear the juvenile (small) ones need fed once a day. I guess I'd agree with that since I have lost some of the smaller specimens, and I'm known to feed less than once a day.

Tank updated pics

Tank pic as of 5/9/04.

Had to rearrange the rock to glue corals down. In the process a Regal Tang, who hid in one of the rocks I had sitting on the center brace of the tank, jumped out of the rock and went carpet surfing. Since I didn't find him til the next day, he was a crispy critter.
