added a new cool new mushroom to the tank today. its orangish-red, got about 4 of them on 1 frag i got from the lfs.
after months of running blind on water quality, i finally got all the needed test equipment, after performing all the checks, i can see the my bio-load is good. everything checks good. i have increase the lighting to about 97w of power compacts, and removed the filter medium from my canister filter.
this is a link to my reefpage on geocities~>-=D6=-<~

peace....

Hi DeepSix! You have a very nice set-up going for your reef tank!

Do you plan on upgrading to a larger tank in the near future as a Tang requires alot of swim space to be healthy and not get stressed out and possible end up losing the fish! I thought I would mention it before the "Tang Police" find out! Johnny

thx for the props, MRR!

what's this? tang police? i'll be sure to keep a low profile..... i plan on coverting my 46 bow from fresh to salt in the next few weeks. i am currently gathering everything i need to get started.
right now, i'm waiting for my ro unit to arrive, followed up by a protien skimmer here soon, most likely a cpr bakpak or something like it.
the tang should be comfortable for sometime in the 46, but i know a 75gl. is recommended for this one. i do change the arrangement alittle to keep them active.

peace...

Question

what are they?

i discovered some new lifeforms crawling around my tank. i mean alot of new critters....

i have a gray/white colored slug, of some sorts, and at full stretch about 9/16" long with a small hump on its back and 2 feelers, that came quickly slithering out of a hole. and there seems to be a rather freshly dug burrowed hole in my live rock that wasn't there before, about 1/4" in diameter. wt* is it?
then theres these critters scurring about this frag of green macro algea that look like tiny shrimp-earwig mutant lifeforms. and there are these long hair bristled tentacles that are banded in brown and white colors that i see from time to time wigglin about. and finally, brown centipede critters about 3/4" in length crawling thru the sandbed. i have no idea what they are. so i am now thinking twice about tranfering the live rock over to my next tank.

46gl reef tank, a new beginning

i have transfered everything out of my smaller reef tank, expect for the halfblack angelfish, 2 damsels and my startfish, i still need more 20~25lbs. of live rock to finishthe tank, but i am leaning towards some tonga branch rock if i can locate some locally. i plan i returning the other fish to the lfs, sinse i have no need for them anymore. i just got the starfish, but all it likes to do is bury itself, and the 1/2black angelfish is eating my polyps. i will look into getting something else with the credit i get for these. for now, all i have is 1 scopas tang in the tank along with 2 snals and a hermit crab.
peace!

Cool

aquafuge setup

its nothing major, just a nice simple setup. 18" cpr aquafuge with live sandbed 2.5" deep, 4"wide x 12" long, a small liverock frag with some green algae and some critters for now. on top is a jbj 18w 10,000' k pc clamp-on light.
peace...
