Hey everyone! I decided to go salt after coutless years of FW aquariums... While doing research and trying to decide what size tank would be both economical and user friendly I stumbled upon GARF's website which shows a DIY 140g tank... Obviously this would take care of the financial aspect of selecting a tank. Unfortunatly after seeing what it costs to filter and light a tank of that magnitude i realized the size of it would drain my pocket book so i took the construction ideas and built a 50 gal tank with the deminsions of 30"L X 18"W X 22"H. At this point the only tank inhabitant is 50g of water and a 10lb bag of kent sea salt... I hope to buy my live sand sometime next week...

got any pics of the tank? to ease up on the cost of livestock and rock, try hooking up with a local reef club. there might be one in your area!
