here is the tank under 55w of pc ultra actinic lighting and 55w of pc 50/50. i added 1 dark purple long tipped tube anemone last night, i was told this is a "non-stinging" and reef safe type. i placed in up front and in a gentle flow area. and now it seems to have killed 1 lawnmower blenny and is stinging one of my prized mushrooms to death..... geez..... not good.

thx for the nice words, tpeck and stormdragon8!
yesterday i removed the 3 light fixtures down, and replaced all of them with a new 165w (3x55w) power compact setup. this elimanted the dark shadow produced by the center strap, and spreads the light out very evenly across the top of the tank. the light seems to reach all the way down to the bottom 18" to were the sandbed begins, so i shouldn't have to move any corals or inverts about.

my new adventure into nano-reefing

here is my 20gl nano reef. lighting is supplied by a 150whqi mh with 10k bulb. filteration is provided by a cpr bakpak, and 2 small rio pumps. 18lbs of liverock, and 30lbs of live sand. hw marine mix " professional was used to start the tank up, and then water was seasoned with a 8gl. swap-out from my main tank. currently the live stock consists of a flame angle, hermit crab, orange discosomas, star polyops, and white blue tipped acro and a blue tipped purple stylo.

thx! actually the 20gl has changed quite abit. i'm using it to stock pile small frags of hard corals, and to get some other small colonies a chance to spread. the 150whqi on 20gl is overkill! i clean the front of the tank about 3x day. putting a small durasa clam has helped alot.
peace...

thanks casey!

here's is the latest pic. the white acro isn't doing well, but no signs of any other disaters in the making. i added bio-plankton along with dt's, but it still failed to thrive, unlike the rest of the corals i have added. weekly water changes, diatom water polishing once a month, i.v. drip of dosing with iodine, kalk, and essential vitamins, still failed to bring it around lesson not learned evidently... so i got a new book that deals with propagation of corals. not many pictures, but a ton of info!
