That pic...someone remind me to adjust my flow in the tank...powerheads are blowing the crap out of those dusters. I cleaned equipment today, now I need a readjustment.
I have a feeling that I am going to pay much more attention to the natural location of corals for the 55 (und fish). I have no problem with the yashia and the shrimp, but would have to dump my idea of the neon gobies. I gotta think of something as an acceptable replacement. And then I wouldn't have my ricordeas...maybe rhodactis or Actinodiscus sp. Might save me a couple of bucks being specific versus going the usual hodge-podge route.

The pic or the Say No to Hodge-Podge idea?...I believe it was you who had said something at the other site that inspired my change in reefing direction.

Heinz, stop by any time you want!
Booze: another tank for the hodge-podge? Man, I don't know, stocking the 55 will be expensive enough and I am not even thinking about the upgrade in equipment. Forget all that, I am going for broke!
Anyway, been researching my open swimming goby possibilities, a few different dartfish available on the market.
Ordered a few books on the corals of the Indo-Pacific.
I am getting way too excited and I don't have the tank yet. Anyone want to volunteer to help restrain me when I finally get the tank up and running in 2010? lol

Hodge-podge can be good but takes some trial and error when mixing species from different oceans, different ecosystems and different parts of the world. With experience and knowledge under your belt you are in a better position to create a harmonious reef! Become one with your reef I always say! I cringe when I read someone triumphantly exclaim that their Pacific clownfish is hositng with their Atlantic condy anemone and crap like that!

Ah c'mon Scott, that only happens what? Once a month? LOL.
Great to know she is researching. But she was a librarian. She realizes the value of the printed word.
Tank looks awesome!

No way!
Dewey was so yesterday.
I am all about the Library of Congress call number system.
Scott, every time you pass the Department of Energy in DC, think "Becky used to read the newspapers in there, sleep on the couches, and play a Pass the Pigs tournament after closing time in this building."
It's how I know about copyright law and I am a big believer in sharing info.

Wait a minute, I think I might resemble that remark.
You may see exactly what you are talking about in my picture book thread.
