Andrew's Tank

Tank specs:
tank: 40 breeder
Lighting: one 250w 14k SE metal halide, and two 65w pc actinics.
skimmer: Euro-reef ES5-2 (rated for 75g)
20gallon sump with about 10 gallons of water in it.
Flow thru sump = 700 GPH after friction and head loss
closed loop flow = 1200 GPH (after friction and head loss) split between two SCWD's and 6 line-loc nozzles.
the closed loop runs for 16 hours a day.
Tank is bare bottom, (cutting board).
60 lbs of live rock form various places, some rock I have had for 5 years in various tanks.
Clean up crew: 30 Astrea snails
I use 1.5 cups of E.S.V. Activated Carbon in a media bag in between the baffles of the sump. I replace it weekly.
Also in the sump is 1/2 cup of Rowa-Phos in a small media bag.

Occupants:
2 occellaris clowns and one Cherub angel.
2/3rds of the tank is SPS frags, except for a 12" diameter Orange Montipora Capricornis. There is also one frogspawn that the clowns host.
The other 1/3 of the tank is a small island of Ricordea and Zoanthids, they are "land locked" so they can't spread to the rocks that the SPS is on.

Dosing, maintenance and parameters:
I dose kalkwasser with my top-off water which is done automatically throughout the day.
Daily 30cc doses of a homemade 2 part ALK/Ca mixture. (Randy's receipe)
Daily 1 capful of Magnesium. (Randy's receipe)

I change 18 gallons of water weekly. I siphon the bottom of the tank and the rocks.
I use Oceanic Salt mix.
I use Ro/DI water from my Kent Hi-S maixxima unit.
I change my Cartridges more often than I should. LOL
