55 gallon reef in the works
Hi everyone, I'm a long time reader, first time poster. I thank all of you that help everyone out with your never ending knowledge. It has helped me achieve my goal of setting up my first saltwater tank.
Tank info
It's a 55 gallon tank with a hang on back overflow that goes to a wet/dry filter. Return pump is CA 2200. Pro Clear Aquatics skimmer.
Lighting is provided by a Odyssea 260 watt compact fluorescent fixture.
I know the company has a well deserved bad reputation, but that aside, this light has been worth every penny so far. I have no complaints at all whatsoever.
For water flow, I am using two Koralia 2's.
I guestimate about 55 pounds of live rock. And another 30 pounds of rock that is on the verge of becoming live. And 40 pounds of live sand.
Tank inhabitants include a False Percula Clown, Blue Hippo Tang, Diamondback Goby, Coral Banded Shrimp, a couple of Peppermint shrimp, Blue Seastar, Atlantic Anenome, Wall Hammer coral, Brain Maze, Finger Leather, Pom Pom Xenias, a few hermit crabs, an Emerald crab and a couple of turbo snails.
The tank has been running for 7 months and doing very well.
