Hmm, they were all in a horizontal line when I saw them. I hope I did not mess them up for anyone. I am confused as well now.

You have done very well for yourself with only $100 - $150 bucks. I have easily dropped that much, and sometimes more, in one weekend of coral buying. I am beginning to think it is time for me to slow down some, but I keep seeing new pieces every once in a while that call my name.

Dumbest smart person she knows. I kind of like that. It rates right up there with the fact the one who graduates last in there class in medical school is still called doctor.

I think I am finally ready to get a pump for it an setup the sump, I generally hear 10x the DT volume for a return. I would like to still be able to use the HOB skimmer and move it down to the sump. THe pumps extend down far enough I think I won't have to extend the piping. But how do I know the proper amount of flow for the skimmer to work well? I was looking at the 317 gph ehiem 1250.

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Eheim return pumps. You may want to send Fat Tony a PM and ask him about them as I believe that is all he uses.

So I got approval to splurge on an Eheim 1250 return pump. Now i know how the water will return to the DT. Should I use a overflow kit or try to make a coast to coast overflow. Geoff speaks very highly of the system in his thread and IIRC FLyguy uses one to.

Will they sell the bulkhead for running plumbing through the holes at a hardware store or is that something I will have to order?

EC has just posted pictures of a new 40 ballon build he is doing in his Red Magnifica thread. He is using a pvc coast to coast overflow. You should be able to get the bulkheads from any LFS, but it is very doubtful the hardware store will know what you are asking about.

I have been following that thread Mike.

I ordered a 1250 today but it won't be in for a few weeks. The LFS matched the online price so I actually saved 10 bucks on shipping. Now If I am too stupid to hook it up right there will be someone in town to ask

I almost wish I hadn't ordered it... then I could have gotten a year old 6 bulb Tek fixture for 175 bucks But I keep buying other stuff and putting off this sump project and it needs to get done.

Wow! Where did you find the Tek fixture at that price? That would have been very hard to pass up as well.

LFS changed partners, got rid of all their T5 for MH. If I sold my Nova used and my old 96 PC from my FW it really would not have cost me much. If it is still for sale when I get back I may just charge it. It would be a sign then right?

Well, the good news is my skimmer will fit into the sump . So I will need one chamber for it to sit in, a middle chamber and then the chamber for the return pump. Correct?
