30 gal. Reef set-up

This tank is 30 gal with a seaclone protein skimmer two power heads,
175watt pendant. 25lbs of live rock, reef sand, yellow watchman, clown, pistol shrimp, blue tang and a number of corals. I'v been having problems with red nasty alage. any ideas?

Welcome to TRT!! The tank looks very nice. About the "red nasty alage" do you use RO/DI water? I would look at a new skimmer the seaclone is ok I had one for over a year. But with the new skimmer I have it pulls out about 5x as much stuff. Cool tank!

This tank has been cycling for 8-9 months.
I do not use ro water I have thought about purchasing ro water pre mixed from the local pet shop. Any advise on that. also how will a water purifier
work that goes on a sink?
