I have almost the same setup as you. 210 AGA with Mega flow model 4 sump and the coralife skimmer. I removed the bioballs and created individual chambers where the balls went so i could place mechanical and chemical filtration in there. I use 2 mag 18 pumps. I would recommend leaving the top tray in the sump empty because as it clogs water will run over the top of the filter pad and down the side of the sump where the lid sits and onto your floor.

what corals are you looking to grow?
also, what purpose is your sump serving? just for oxygenation?
If it's for filtration then you really should only push 1000gph or less through your sump - imo

Filtration The mega flow tank recommends 1200 gph per side so we got a 2400 gph and going to split it???? why what else do you recommend?

not maxing out your overflows.....there is no need to push all that water throug hyour sump unless it is a FOWLR for oxygenation....not to mention the extra elec. costs and heat from those nonefficient mags - imo

what type of corals if any are you trying to keep?

Im doing a reef / coral tank but to be honest with you im still a learner....driving a huge ship w/out experience hoping we don't sink...lol....

thats why im asking alot of ??????? I was under the understanding you need alot of current for most corals????thats why the big pump more oxygen and better flow...we also bought a hang on 24" refugium with an extra protein skimmer????just trying to get the right stuff but not overdue it..

you are doing it right
it's just that you want to get 90% of your flow from a closed loop and or powerheads. 3x-5x the amount of gallons in display is a very good turnover rate as it will help your skimmer be more efficient, will reduce chance of microbubbles, etc.

So if you already have the mags, run one for return with a gate valve to tune back, and the other for a closed loop. Or sell one and use powerheads, or sell both and get a more efficient return pump(or 2 smaller ones) and powerheads or a more efficient closed loop pump.
