i have added some more frags from a friend!
tri-color digi:
green cap - i like this one because it has nodules growing up vertically out of the center in his tank, much like the true leng sy...not the typical cap:
and my personal favorite from his tank - a vibrant teal acro:

an update on the achilles tang...
this past saturday i noticed the white spots (minimal) were back. by sunday evening the fish was nearly covered in them. i expected to find a dead fish monday morning, but to my surprise he was hanging in. still swimming, perhaps a bit lethargic, but was still eating as of last night. i'm continuing to soak the food in freshly-minced garlic, and am feeding the garlic along with the food. there was no change as of last night - still covered in white spots from head to tail, but no striking the rocks or heavy breathing. this morning before work i did a quick spot-check and the fish is still alive. we'll see what it looks like tonight.
i'm honestly surprised it isn't dead as bad as it looks. seems to be a fighter...here's to hoping for the best!

well crap. the ich has gone from marginal to worse. over the last few days especially, the achilles has become covered in it and as of last night it has spread to the other tangs and rabbitfish. everyone is still eating...but i've got to do something.
tonight i plan to yank the coral frags and as many inverts as possible, and begin working down to hypo treatment in the display. not ideal, but as i see it i have no other options. even if i could catch the fish (doubtful as my rock is not movable), i don't think they would survive the stress of being moved to a new tank. ...and it's still my belief that the achilles needs the space and intense water movement that the display provides.
here's to backwards progress!!!

Cheers!
What are your thoughts on QT? I never do it, personally, but that's more an issue of space availability as anything. And unquestionably unwise in most cases.

bummer Ben, I know that backwards steps can be a huge bummer!
Fingers crossed for the fishes!

thanks, amy - appreciate the offer. fortunately, i have plenty of other systems at my disposal for the frags.
you're welcome to frags when they grow out, tho! any time...

i'm torn.
lights have been on 1/2 hour and everybody is back to normal. the achilles still has spots, but not as bad and none of the dazed and confused swimming in place. everyone ate like usual. i guess i'll just continue to monitor the situation.

I guess a better worded question would be what is the status of your fish and the spots now?
