I have one o clown and 6 pounds of live sand. there is 4lbs of fiji LR and 4lbs of bali LR. I have no additional equipment.

I started the tank 9 days ago with aged water from my lfs as well as live sand and the LR. I have the api master saltwater test kit.I waited 5 days and my levels were good so i added a small one inch o clown. I have read that the tank is to small for a clown but my lfs said it would be fine.

at the time i added my clown the levels were as such
ph 8.2
no2 0.0 ppm
amonia between 0 and .25 ppm
no3 40 ppm

I don't wont' this to come off wrong, but you're getting a little ahead of yourself. In spite of what your LFS may have told you your tank needs more time to cycle before you add fish or other livestock. Your test results show that the cycle is just starting.

As for size, my daughter had a 12G JBJ (since upgraded to an AP24) with a small clown in and it did just fine.

I agree you shouldn't added either of the clowns till it cycled .The Ammonia burns their gills and other things(not fare to them).
