I have recently been starting a new 10 gallon nano reef tank but I have been having problems with all of my plants dying. I have a coralife 65watt 50/50 light fixture, a supreme skilter 250, and a heater. The tank contains a sand bottom and 8lbs of live rock. It also contains 2 hermit crabs, 2
peppermint shrimp, and a lawnmower blenny. The
algae growth is good, but the polyps and xenia have all died. I have added calcium and iodine to the tank but nothing seems keep polyps from dying. Many months ago I added copper to help with a fish disease back when it was just a fish only tank with sand bottom. Would that kill plants still? If so is there any way to clean the tank. I make regular water changes, the salinity is about .025, all the other levels measure fine. Also, with it being summer the tank gets up to about 86 degrees at mid day, would that kill everything?
