Refugium lighting

What refugium lighting cycle is best - 24/7, or reverse photoperiod? Why?

I can't give you a definitive answer on which is better, but I personally use a reverse photo period. I have found that my pH remains the same throughout the day rather than having that swing downward at night. Some have experienced macroalgae going sexual doing this, but thus far I have not. I'm using grape and feather caulerpa in my refugium.

The other benefit is that I have a night light in my living room

I've tried both & the macroalgae growes a lot better with the reverse photo period! That's what I'm using now & I've read that as long as you keep the caulerpa trimmed good it don't go sexual!
