Mounting Ballasts

I am about ready to install a Hello Lights 4x55W PC fixture onto my tank. I want to mount the ballasts on the inside of my tank stand to save room and keep them as fas away from moisture as possible. I only have room to mount these ballasts VERTICALLY underneath my tank on the sides of the stand. Does anyone see a problem with this?

Should not be a problem, just make sure to have a driip loop on the wires, I also when mounting ballast try to put a spacer behind them so there is a little air between the ballast and the wall.

Thanks! Could you explain a drip loop to me?

I'll explain this as simply as I can...

water runs down, of course- gravity. If you get some water on the wires coming from your ballast, whether it's from the power cord or to the lights, you don't want water to drip into your ballast. Droop your cords so that all wires will be leading up to your ballast. Your wires should form a 'U' shape. I don't have a pic but I think that should give you an idea anyways. HTH
