The thing you have to remember with fans is that you have to be able to exit at least as much air as you are pushing in.. The higher the temp in canopy near bulbs the more airflow you are going to need. The same with room temps that approach optimal reef temps(for instance 80-82F)If the room is 80 and you have MH lights you will need alot of airflow to drop the canopy temp, as opposed to being able to keep the room temp doun around 76 or so. Anytime you can arrange to pull hot air from canopy and vent it outside, thats a good thing
Auxillary fans in the sump cabinet can help lower temps by evaporation, a side benny is more water to replace with Kalk or whatever. Keep in mind tho the higher the ambient humidity the less effective evap will cool. Hint it works much better in the SouthWest than the SouthEast
