Depends on brand, but usually about 100 hrs when intensity and color reach their steady level, then about 9 mos to a year before they red shift too much to continue use, but this depends more on the ballast and method of arcing rather than the bulbs. I am crank8ing up some 12K sunbursts on the new Icecap MH electronic bulbs, I will measure color and lumens to see where they shift on these (I will be burning 3 this month, 3 more in about 4 or 5 more months/)
