Acrylic and lighting, HELP!

Okay I got this new acrylic tank and thought I was getting the euro style top that has far less acrylic. Obviously didn't get that style so now I have a really huge question! Does acrylic filter any of the wavelengths from MH or PC?

I was writing my task list yesterday for doing the tank change over project today and realized this could be a serious issue. Fortunately the place I ordered the tank from is willing to do a swap for me so if I have to change the tank I'm not out anything.

Thanks!

It will make a difference. Not only will you loose intesity going through the acrylic, it usually always gets covered in salt creep which makes it even worse. The reason they put the lager top on those tanks is so they can get away with thinner walls and basically a cheaper tank all around. Personally I would not accept it.

Thanks for the information. You bring up 2 more important points that hadn't even crossed my mind. Hek, wavelengths won't matter if you can't get the light to the reef to begin with. This definitely kills the deal, so the project is on hold until I can get another tank in here.
