Question

where to find a co2 cylinder

Does anyone have any advice on what type of businesses would sell or rent co2 cylinder. I'm in the process of setting up the ca reactor and would like to find a local business.

Thanks,

Sean

Our local Welding Supply carries different sized CO2 cylinders and also does refills. Either that or you can try brewshops (for keg tapping) or party rental stores (for soda dispensers).
Off the top of my head that's about all the places I can think of offhand.
Hope that helps.

Cali I would recomend staying away from the food grade stuff and getting it from a welding supply company. The welding grade co2 and tank are a cleaner source for co2 and do not have neary as much impurities in them. Aany welding supply company should let u have a bottle for a deposit and then reilling them is cheap.

good luck

Sean,

Where are you located? I bought a used Coca-Cola CO2 cyclider for $60 and refills are $18.

Sacramento Area. Although I do travel to Oakland twice a week by way of 680.

PaintGuru - The bottle size they quoted was for a 5lb.

FWIW I deal with a large Gas supplier locally that fills O2, Nitrogen , and CO2 from Liquid bulk tanks. ITs all the same, depends on the condition of the container(cylinder) . I know medical O2 and welding OX come from the same bulk tank, medical gas cylinders have to meet higher cleanliness specs than industrial, HTH
