Skimmer won't skim...

I have a SeaClone 100 Hanging from a 55 gal reef. I have had it on there for about a month and I can't get it to foam up into the cup. I have tried various air mixes, but I can't seem to get it dialed in. The foam only makes it just above the water level in the riser tube.

Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Brad

Sorry but...

OK this is toatally not the answer you need to hear but...

There is a reason their nickname is SeaClown.

But make sure the cup base is clean. Make sure the air intake is free of crud. Heat up some hot R/O water and stick the intake line into the hot water. Also make sure your pump is clean and free of crud.

Peace,

Ok, assuming what I have will not work without modifications, can someone make a recommendation for a unit that will work as advertised?

Thanks for the responses.

For a hang on use the remora, by aqua sea, or a backpack 2 with a maxijet 1200 ph. Those are both great hang on skimmers.
