Skimmer Opinions??
I just set up my new 90 gallon tank today, upgrading from a 75. I also have my first sump on this tank & it is 25 gallons. I am in the market for a new skimmer & see that Premium Aquatics has this one http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merch...en_dspy_review
Anyone have any experience with this skimmer? The reviews look good as long as you put the right pump on it. Thanks for any input.

I have heard good things about turbofloters but I have not had one. I would also recomend going to www.mycreations.com, which is Andy's or myreef on this board, he makes a good skimmer at affordable prices, I would also recomend talking to Geo, do a search for Geo on this board and you find a link to his stuff. You won't go wrong with any of the above choices.

Just to clarify, I'm looking for an In- Sump skimmer. SO I guess the question I should have asked first is "What would you recommend for an in sump skimmer on a 90 Gallon tank?"
Thanks for the input so far!!

If costs is a major concern, then thats a fine skimmer. If one has more to spend, then I am a firm supporter of Euroreef. Superb skimmers, easy to use, sit in the sump and use little power.

i have a freind that just bought a turbo floater for his 100gal and he loves it. he has a small pump running the needle wheel and a larger running the skimmer, for the price its about the best your gonna find. lifereef, etts, aqua C, their very nice skimmers but are on the high end. i run a berlin w/ 900gph pump and its doing a great job on my 90gal. i have only had the venturi clog once sofar and just removed hose and flushed it out.
cheers

Turbofloaters are good skimmers. I have used one and built my own, and have been satisfied with the results in each case.
BTW, they can be made to be far more efficient with the addition of an air pump.

Most of the major manufacturers and plenty of the DIY guys make in sump skimmers. As mentioned its only a factor of price that really limits your options. I purchased a LifeReef and love it, but probably would have gone with one of the DIY guys that were mentioned above since the price would have been better. Get the largest one you can just in case you expand again Better to have too much than not enough in my estimation.
When I was purchasing, the thing that I looked or was easy to clean and disassemble venturi mechanisms. The LifeReef is all external and claims to be self cleaning. The ones that use the jet nozzles, the the DIY ones are also very good in that regard. Some of the name brand ones are a little difficult to break down if you need to.

I have heard good things as well about the TurboFloaters. I almost went with one for my 75, but decided on a AquaC EV180. If you go toward the AquaC's, I can tell you it is a great skimmer.
