How is your Calcium reactor Plumbed?

Do you have it outside the sump drawing in water and returning it via drip? Do you have in inside the sump drawin in water and returning it via drip? A pic would help alot or a drawing

TIA Jeff

Mine sits beside the sump and is fed by a Maxi-Jet 600. The drip is returned in about the same spot. Mine's really crammed into the stand so not much will show from a pic.

I have a sm dual chamber. It also sits outside the sump and drips into the sump. You do need to be able to see the effuent drip rate inorder to adjust it correctly.

I T'ed off the main pump but will switch this in the future. There is just to much pressure going in and that makes it harder to adjust your effuent flow rate. A small power head would be a better solution.

Am going to be taking some pics of my setup later today. If I can get a good one of the reactor I post post it tonight.

CR-150?

Is that the one Jeff?

Mine is next to my sump also tee'd off of a Mag24. It drips into the intake of my skimmer.

c_k_kuehne,

Try a 1/4" ball valve after the tee in your main pump to ease the pressure to the reactor.

Mine is outside the refugium with a small ph feeding it. I also have a second chamber that was added on. The water flows from the ph in the refugium to the reactor, then to the second chamber, then back to the refugium.

I have both a 1/2" gate valve then a 1/4" gate valve just before the reactor. Doesn't seem to help. The effluent slows down over time and every couple of days I need to tweek it up a bit. I do have a little giant 4 pressure rated pump so there is alot of pressure. Was told if I had a ph wide open and adjusted with the 1/4" gate at the return the problem will be solved (I know someone who solved there problem that way). Just havn't gotten around to getting the ph.
