DIY Skimmer Pic

I have this old bio tower and this itch to DIY. Anyway here's what I came up with. The unit is about 30" tall. There will be a gate valve on the exit port. I’ll still need to play with the height of the exit raiser to create some back pressure for water height. I have an Iwaki to drive the Beckett. I was thinking about taking the exit raiser up to the bottom of the Beckett. As soon as my bulkhead fittings and gate valve get here from AquaticEco.com I can do some flow testing with fresh water. We’ll see if I can get close to an operating skimmer.

I also ordered lights today from hellolights. Two 400W Iasaki 6500Ks to add to my VHO setup. Brian was very helpful. This project is starting to look ready to get wet.

Looks great. I wish I had the time to do sme DIY stuff liek that but working two jobsand 6 daz a week I seem to stay pretty busy.

It's all a matter of priorities. Currently this project/hobby is at the top of my list. Interrupted only when my four kids complain about being hungry.
