Question

controllers

Im thinking of getting an aqua controller does anyone have a preference between it & the octopus is one easier to use than the other.
I wish i would have known they would do waves before I bought my wavemaker...

i have an ACII and love it. i was looking at the octopus, but it seemed more expensive, and did not do anything that i wanted to do. the hidden cost are all of the X10 modules, they run about $10 each. and you would need one per controlled item.

it all depends on the lights you have. i kinda do. i have the actinics come on before the MH, but that is it. supposedly you could get the icecaps to gradually turn on, but i do not know how.
you can use as many lights as you want to gradually gain intensity.

aqua controller

i'v been using the aqua controller for 4yrs and wouldn't give it up.
the thing i like it the sun cycle it wil simulate the sun rise and set and it will also simulate the moon cycle from full to no moon. the claim it will help promote spawning. you can also simulate high and low tide with the power heads as well as wave making. it will even shut all the power heads down for a feeding cycle. and control your heater/ chiller if you wish. the best thing around

The Aquacontroller II has a more sophisticated programming language (although very, very basic) and as such can do more than the Octo.

The AQ2 is the hands down winner IMO.

The Pro can monitor O2 (with a multi-hundred dollar probe) and allows for more X10 modules to be controlled.
