Berlin skimmer mod

My berlin skimmer would proudce a good amount of foam in the riser tube but would break back down before entering the collection cup. The problem was because there was only about a 3/16 gap between the lid and the the riser tube which wouldn't let the foam freely escape.

I used a Dremel and cut another 1/4" off the riser tube increasing the gap to about 7/16". It has been running for about three days with the mod and now the collection cup is full of foam and the run of bottle is about twice as full as before the mod. HTH

Don't you love it when your mod's work the way their supossed to.

I just recently ordered a new skimmer (should be here tomorrow) and was looking at the Berlin's but got the impression that there was better. Has yours lived up to its expectations?

I wanted to get an AquaC 90 but was a little out of my budget so I went for the ETSS Super Reef Devil. Anyone have any experience with this?
