I have a minijet 606 in there, was thinking about adding the spare minijet 404 but I'm using that for waterchange make up water at this point. I lost the suction cup attachment for the 404. It seems I get decent flow with just the 606 and the return from the BP. I don't really have a problem gettng rid of the pre-skimmer box, it'd make the tank look bigger, but it isn't in the way either.

Edge,

One PH should be fine in that small tank but two would give you the one-low/one-high benefit if you went without the pre-skimmer box. The only thing to watch for is having the right amount of flow for the corals you keep.

See I don't have any corals yet so the flow isn't a problem. and you can adjust the minijets flow rate which is nice. I actually have that combo box with the bubble reducer compartment that doesn't really work for much but hiding the heater.

I belive that all you would need. That's a really good deal for that pump. I might call and make sure that the pricing is correct cuz earlier in this post FishDaddy said that they are around $40. but the maxi jet 1200 should fit according to everyone on this thread saying that it does.

You got it right, SC!! )

Edge,
Someone else said $40; I mentioned about $19, which is what Premium Aquatics sells them for, plus they charge $4 for the venturi. $40 is waaaaay to high!

I posted that link after searching multiple sites on the net. That was the cheapest I can find. 60 dollars was the highest. I just purchased from reefgeek and the total plus shipping was areound 25 dollars.

I found that the bak pak is an excellent skimmer for the money. I also found adding a seaclone along with it does WONDERS.

I leave the Bio Bale in.. And occasionally clean it.. I find at times it does collect alot of junk.. But if you stay ontop of it it also removes the junk as well.. Just my 2 cents...

I run 75 gallon reef with 2 404 Fluvals. Sea Clone.. Bak Bak and a Refuge with a detrite.. and fluro.. kit in it..

aside from loosing an anemone ... it has been sweet..

I'll do that. There's no way I'd pay that much for the MJ1200. I've seen it at my LFS for $25 so I think I'll do that. I can't belive that someone would have the balls to sell one for that much, but it happens. Should I then add the 404?

I use a bak pak on my 75 gal. since I dont have much LR (just starting the tank) I have found that it works supurbly...I get some nassssssty stuff from the cup...one thing that I do is place a rubberband around the cup and raise it off the intake pipe. which is where I think it normally rests. this allows for more bubbles and prevents a lot of straight water from entering the cup.

mandarin freak, there is supposed to be a black O-ring that goes around the skimmer cup to make its height adjustable. looks like you improvised using rubber bands. some LFSes carry the O-rings, theyre pretty cheap, keep your eyes open for them.
