Aquacontroller II Q's

My future set-up is definitely going to include the Aquacontroller II. After reading and researching I still need some clarification. BTW, Bill-e review was very helpful, thanks Bill (read ).
I have never wrked with X-10 or any controller modules and feel I'm missing something. Tell me if this is right: The Aqua controller has a module that plugs into a socket and is directly conected to the controller, the pre-programmed controller sends a signal to this module which in turn sends the signal to a remote module which turns the appliance plugged into it on/off.

Is that right or is there any hard wiring involved? I understand the functions of the controller and all the probes and modules needed, but just wanted to clarify how the signal is sent from controller to appliance.

Thanks for your help, hope I made a little sense.

you are correct. there is a module that takes the x10 controll signals from the aquacontroller II via a RJ11 cable. there is also an AC/DC adaptor that powers the aquacontroller II. i have just bought one a month ago and love it. it does take up two outlets though. i was lucky enough to place the controller on a different circuit than the rest of my aquarium stuff.

I found another good link for this here in case anyone else is interested.

Also, I saw some X-10 "in wall" sockets online. Would these be compatible with the aquacontroller?

Thanks again

yes they will compatible. i use x10 for my audio system and the aquarium. i use the inwall outlets for the audio, but will add 4 for the aquarium shortly. there are two kinds one that controls just the top outlet and another that controls both.

X10 Super Sockets

Hey Geoff, My 180 is filled with super sockets but they're the SR227's which only have the top outlet controlled. Got a link to the one's with both sockets controlled? Or even a model number would be great. Thanks

Can you control both the top and bottom outlet independantly? Or will both outlets recieve the same on/off signal?
