Weekend project- Auto top off

I picked up this auto top off pump controller today.
It seems to be real slick; it has a sensor that turns the
pump on when it reads low level in the sump, then a second
to cut power to the top off pump when the holding tank is low.
I got a mag2 with it for the supply pump.
Should work great till I set my roots into a home and plumb
a RO/DI to the tank.
I can post pics as I go, if anyone would like.

Cool! Keep us posted, Im trying to tackle this auto top off thing in my mind and it would be a great help to watch someone set one up.

Hi just hooked up mine last night. Just used one sensor with 120 running through it to turn on a maxi jet that pushes water into the sump. Will be adding another sensor in series higher up as a backup in case the sump level gets to high incase the first sensor fails for some reason. Calvin I would think of using that second sensor as a backup for the first one rather than having it detect the level in the reservor. Of course you would need to wire it in series with the first one.

This unit has a mode select so I could use the second as a high level shut off too. But im afraid of forgetting to keep water in the holding tank, so im setting it up to shut down so it doesnt burn the pump out.

There is a low volt relay in this unit; I would be afraid of an arc with out one?

Yeah after seeing yours I was thinking about converting mine to low voltage also. just turn on a relay with 120. Works great so far

It is showing 2 watts to activate the relay to switch on 110.

max control power output is 2 amps.

I sure we wish we had that sort of stuff available off-the-shelf, over here in the Philippines...
