I am waiting for reviews to start coming in about 6 months from now before I buy into the idea. Alot of people jumped on the ocean current device until it started failing. I don't know anyone from the initial wave of buyers that still use them.....

I am sure it will also become more useful when they come out with a 1" and hopefully a 1.5" unit.

I am also a bit skeptical of flow loss the device could cause especially those that are t'ing off below tank level to get returns to opposite ends of the tank......I would think the best result would be like like Yak and T off same height as the returns.

to tell the truth, i didnt think of that when i plumbed it the way i did, i just thought it would be best that way to minimize the number of 90 degree fittings. i had 2 on my tank but one failed.
im going to try and get it replaced.

I was just trying to say that ( IMO ) the head basically doubles when you T off lower ( forms a Y ) and water has to climb through two tubes instead of T off at the same level as the returns.......

mikeMersot, there are pliers available for the 1/2 inch size, but i assembled the 3/4 lockline by hand, not too difficult.

I got a call from 3iqventures (the manfacturer) and he directed me to a local distibutor to replace it no questions asked, thier customer service was good. he seemed a nice guy on the phone. all i told him is it wasnt switching and that the turbine in the bottom seemed to have fallen off and was rattleing around in the housing. so now i have both of them running again. Wheeeee!
