Plumbing Questions n assistance

Ok, Going to be plumbing in my CLS in the hood here soon, and I'm needing some help with all the fittings and what not I will need. This is turning into legos with all the diffrent parts I swear.

Before I get to the Main Question, can someone tell me what valve is used for FLow Control.. Gate Valves, or Ball Valves?

The current plan is to use my 1800GPH Mag drive to do the CLS in the hood. This will have 4 Seperate Outlets. Follow me if you can and let me know if I'm doing this overkill..

Now the Mag Drive manual reccomends using 1" pipe to maximize waterflow. It comes with 3/4" fittings on the pump however, so I'll need to use an adaptor to convert to 1" pipe. to do this I found whats called a SLip*Thread Bushing 1" * 3/4"

This will allow the 3/4" on the pump to screw into the bushing, and then have the 1" on the otherside cuplinked to another 1" Main Pipe.

Then from the main pipe, I was planning on doing four 1" T Fittings down the main pipe, each one being one of the Outlets.

Now from the 1" T I will run a Small Piece of PVC to cuplink with another SLip*Thread Bushing (this time convering to 3/4 from 1") and in Threaded part of the Bushing have the 3/4" Male Loc-Line Adaptor, which connects to the actual Lock line that I can move and aim where I want.

Now Something else I was thinking I could do, instead of using a cuplink between the T and slip*Thread bushing, use a Flow Control Valve (from the first question) instead, and butt the 1" slip and the 1" pipe together, and use it as a Coupling, but with a valve as well.

Here is kind of what I'm talking about:

The Only thing I can see from your diagram is you will want to put a union in there and a ball valve ie pimp union ball-valve this way you can shut the valve off and pull the pump out if you need to
I know you have one up near the return but down near the pump will prevent alot of water draining out when you disconnect the pump use the one up top for flow control and the botom one for maintenance.
other then that you should be fine but I am no plumbing expert so lets see if others agree

I agree with TimBeR, but I would use gate valves instead, better water flow adjustment.

Personally I think you could use the 3/4x1" to upgrade to 1" then use Tees that are 1slip with a threaded 3/4 out, a ball valve on each and use the Line-Loc fittings to get directional control. IMO a cheap gate valve is close enuff for flow adjustments on a closed loop, SW safe gate valves are hard to find here localy and about 4x the cost plus shipping if mail ordered

Thanks for the input guys, I think I found a working method that will do the trick nicely..

Heres an updated pic of the general idea.

just my .02

why not use a 3/4" thd to 1" thd next to the pump. this saves on the slip, then either put the valve or the union next and finish the rest with 1". I went to HD and in the sprinkler section you can get threaded black "nipples" for the short runs and thay are not too expensive. you won't loose too much flow with the 3/4" valve , but I would use the 1" valve, just a little more 4 though
