Electric valves for flow control

I was just looking and saw that there are electric ball valves for sprinkler systems that are all plastic (no metal exposed). Has anyone experimented with this to vary the output on a closed loop system?

Anyone see a problem with this idea?

Been thier done that Reed. They dont work....well actually they do but they ae not ment for constant use...switching back and forth. They will usually burn out in about a month or two if u use them like u would an electronic ball valve

Actually there are 1 RPM valves out there but you have to hunt them down and they are a DIY deal, also plan on about $300 unless you have real good connections in the plumbing trade

Alright.

Hate the pricetag on those fancy-smancy "Designed for the reef aquarium" valves, but if it's already been tried and shown to fail...so be it. Thanks Mike and Doug.
