Bulkhead hole size?

Hey all,

Just got a 1" bulkhead for my refugium, but it did not come with literature on what size the drilled hole should be. I searched the web and believe I saw 1 7/8" as the hole size at one place. Is this a universal size? Is there a better place to go look for a table with bulkhead hole sizes? Thanks.

I've always had better luck matching the bulkhead to the hole drill. Most of the measurements I've seen for hole size is a little too big.

Well shoot, I have my little 1" bulkhead kit now. I guess I'll go like 1/8" smaller than the recommended hole size and go from there.

I do what Jerel does, I take the bulkhead and find a drill bit as small as possible to get the bulkhead in. The recomended size might work also.

FYI sizes do vary from one brand to the next. For my 1" bulkheads I used a 1-3/4" hole saw and it was a perfect fit. Bob
