Zoecon Question

Last night my wife got confused and added a capful of Kent Zoecon to our 55-gal reef tank (she should have only added a drop). We immediately did a 10 gallon (20%) water change, added carbon to the sump, and dialed the skimmer up as much as possible (even though the fats in the Zoecon seemed to be killing the foam in the skimmer).

Any other suggestions? Should we expect any bad consequences? I think that having a wet/dry in this instance will help our tank, as the bugs on the media should chew throught the Zoecon, but a little more information would be great.

Other than the obvious oil slick, the only problem I'd foresee is inhibited oxygen exchange at the surface caused by the slick.

You might be able to blot it up with paper towels on the surface.

Other than that I don't think it's a big deal. Sooner or later your skimmer will be able to get on it but the initial slick will cause the skimmer to stop fractionating.

My wife actually dropped it into the sump right by the pump suction. So it got distributed pretty quickly. Amazing what an impeller will do.
