Zoanthid Lighting

I m setting up a 45 breeder 36"X18"X16" BB with Zoanthids(palythoa, Parazoanthus, and zoanthus sp) I was planning on a single 150w ocean light with 20kk AB bulb. What do you think about this lighting. Comments, concerns let me know. I have been out for the last 5 years and now things have changed.

Zoes dont NEED a lot of light, but they do better with a lot. 150w seems a bit low though. You should try to get more. HTH

The Palythoa and Protopalythoa zoanthids sometimes do better with less light than their short-tentacled cousins. If the light is too intense, they may curl their tentacles in towards the center. Start them at the outer edges of your tank and see how they do.

I would think 150w over a 40 gallon breeder would be plenty. If the polyps seem to be stretching and expanding towards the light, then you'll know they'd like more. I've grown zo's in a 40 gallon breeder with deep sand bed under 4-6 cheapie Asian t5s (about 18w ea.) and they did fine.
