i would dip it.
I had spiders on my zoas. dipped em and havent seen any since. Just make up ro/di water bring temp and pH up to the same as your tank. Dip, swirl, shake the zoas in the dip water. And they should fall off into the bucket. If not carefully check the polyps, between the polyps etc, they may attach, and extract with tweezers.

I'll definatly try.........sadly if i can get a pic, it means i'm loosing another zoa :-(
That's what i was wondering.....but if infact my pods are eating my the zoa's.......a FW dip will do nothing. But i'm not going to put anymore zoa's in the tank until I get a fish and get teh pods population under control.....the tank has been running since dec with no fish, just a fire shrimp, a pom pom crab, a nassarious, astrea's, and a few hermits. The pods are running a muck!!!........and now forming murderous gangs apparently.

I can........but if they are pods.....wouldn't more just crawl on and keep munching.........but i guess i'm willing to try anything that may save the few remaining zoa's

pick them out as she see them. I think it maybe zoa eating nudi's that she has but I don't know look for little bunches of white stuff on your zoos. If you do see if you can get a pic. You may need to scrap it off or get the zoo that has it on it out right away.

look like this??
Dont worry reginamc......I believe you that pods are munching your zoas. What makes soem rogue and predatorial I dont know, but some absolutely are and i surely cant tell the difference visually int he ones that will munch polyps and the ones that wont.
I have actually nuked my tank with a triple dose of interceptor in an effort to kill most of these larger amphipods. The most beneficial thing you can do is get some wrasses, and provide them with some evening light to work with....moonoights even are fine. Yellow coris and a leopard are my pod assassins.
These pods tend to LOVE people eater polyps of any kind.

See that is why we have threads so we can all learn something. Now that he said it I remember Eric talking about it before.

THANK YOU FLY GUY!!!! I knew I wasn't crazy
This is my first tank so i'm always open to being wrong, but your picture has it......a pod!!
I have moonlights and will be getting a wrasse in a few weeks.......when my tank moves to it's final resting place......my office. But until then........tell me about dosing with intercepter, i've never heard of that.
Are you taking about the intercepter that is used in dogs as a heartworm preventive??? I assume it must come in a different form than those giant pills.
