YW Color Loss

I recently got back from a 5 day vacation to find everything in my aquarium fine, except that my yellow watchman had lost most of his color. I was able to feed/top off the aquarium the day i left and cameback, and i had someone to top off and feed during the middle of the 5 days so the fish went without food for really only 2 days. Could having no food for that time make him lose his color? He eats regularly now and acts as if nothing ever happend.

Any help is appreciated!

I had the ame thing happen to mine...mine wasn't because he was hungry, I am not sure why he went pale. How is your salinty? I think mine was high and that may have had some effect on him, but not sure. He is back to yellow now...I would give it some time, took mine about a week to get yellow again.

Salinty... just checked it, 1.019, pretty low, but i'm checking with hydrometer, so there is no way to be sure until i can get a refractometer. Thanks for the advice. I'll wait it out and see what happens.

it is normal for yellow watchman gobies to change from yellow to grey, and sometimes back. take a look here about 1/2 down just below the pic with the adult gobies. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-12/ft/index.php
