Well the Sea Hare didn't make it. Went to check this morning and he was partly inside out and had begun to ink. Oh well, guess I'll throw more crabs in for the never-ending HA battle!
I gotta admit though, he did do a good job eating in the few days he was in there.

It kind of looks like an open brain to me, but it seems rather bleached. I'd stick it low in the sand somewhere, and offer it some small pieces of food a couple times a week (like mysis or similar). Honestly, it's not looking great to me, but I've not a lot of experience with them
In terms of hair algae, keep fighting the good fight, and hopefully you'll see some improvement. I've been right there before, and got rid of it, so I'm sure it can be done.

Thanks Chris. If I just had that much hair on top of my head! Even if it WAS green!
The brain is an odd color. The base color IS white with a green tinge, but those are BRIGHT yellow stripings on it. Hard to believe but, it's supposed to look that way. I'll see if I can get a better pic today.

I've seen a mouth, but should it be tentacled as well? Do you just hold the food in it's mouth until it closes? The plate eats like a PIG! It will do better in the sand?

Most brain corals and plates do better in the sand as it allows some cushioning for their skeletal structure. Placing them on rocks can cause some problems for their undersides.
Best of luck with it.

And when they fall face down on the sand, it can be bad news fast.

Latest update... The brain coral, if that's what is was, is for the most part gone. there's not much left of it. It was nearly impossible to figure out feeding, whether it was or not. It was a beautiful specimen, but I would not recommend it. Maybe someone else has had some luck with that specific kind.
I have since pulled all but about 4 rocks out of the tank and placed them in a can for cooking. that has been going on for about 4-6 weeks now and there is improvement showing there, but no where near done.
I'm still trying to get that stoopid Flame Angel out and gone. If I could get her out of there my Acropora would start growing better as well as my leather. The monti is doing very well, considering, and has possibly attached itself without any of my help.

Sorry, forgot some stuff...
Added a new Mag3 for skimmer input and an auto topoff to the sump.
I also got a 75gal freebee this past weekend, not sure what I'm going to do with it yet... Think FOWLR. The wife wants a couple triggers and a puffer!

Sorry about the loss of your brain and the troublesome flame angel.
Sounds like you got some nice new equipment and a huge score on the free 75. Congrats!
Thanks foor the update.

Some new pics
Added some new pics of the tank. We've added a VERY large devil's hand, a purple gor., a clam (can't remember type), another piece of acro sp., and I finally found a piece of worm rock for $39!

Some pics of the damage from power outage and tank hitting 50deg.
There are pics of the Fungia before and then after. The mouth has finally closed up and it appears to be re-inflating along the outer edges.
The grey mass is the yellow suncoral. There is still one polyp alive... not sure about the others.
Looks as though the 20KW automatic start generator is definately going to be on the list now. The wife suggested it!

I hope the plate continues to recover for you. Hopefully the sun coral will make a comeback as well. Congrats on having your wife suggest the generator, that makes it a whole lot easier to do the things we want at times.

What kind of clam is that, I forget? It's awesome, I'd guess a squamosa, but not certain.
