As some of you can see, I am in the midst of setting up a 75g reef tank. Thanks to Geoff, I am well underway to my new setup. I have been combing the boards in search of the perfect sump plumbing, but now I'm more confused then when I started. The tank has been drilled in each corner and will have 1 1/4" Dursos and 1" bulkheads for the drain. I will be using 1" FlexPVC and will probably run each drain directly to the sump with a 1"
ball valve on each. I have been given a QuietOne4000 to start with as a return pump, but that's where my design stops. I have a really neat return line design in mind, but I don't know what size it should be. I thought I was going to use 1" until I saw it at HomeDepot; everything seemed really large for a return line off of a 900gph pump. Should I be using 3/4" or 1/2"? I'm headed to HD later today to pick up my fittings, so wish me luck.
