Yellow Watchman not eating
Hi all,
My little (1.5" to 2") yellow watchman is not really eating much and looks thin. Right now, I have some flake food, mysis shrimp and brine shrimp. I try to mix it up to see if I can get him to eat, but I am not having any luck...should I try something else? Maybe some live brine shrimp?
What do you all feed your Yellow Watchman?

yeah def try live. How long have you had him? How long was he at the lfs? He may just need a little time to adjust if he's new.

I have had him for about 3 to 4 weeks...he was eating before and was looking good, but now he is looking a little thin...
I am not sure how long he was at the LFS, but he did eat foor there. I don't have any live food, do most LFS sell it?

Water quality is good...just checked it on Saturday. No one is bothering him, all that is in there is a One-spot Foxface, a Condi, a cleaner shrimp, and a bunch of snails...
I do put enough food, probably a little too much because it is not all gone in 2 minutes. Not sure what his deal is.

I was just wondering and this is just a thought in my head do you think you may be feeding him too much and overwhelming him?

Try soaking the food in Garlic or selcon ( a fishy type vitamin). You can also try frozen cyclopeeze

I live in Vestal, just west of Binghamton. I think I may be able to get some live brine, the shop I bought him from had it, but I am not sure if it was for sale, how do you keep it? Do I need another tank to keep it in?
Hey Kelli...you are always to my rescue with my little goby...how do you soak it in garlic? Do you use fresh garlic, and mix it in the water? What I usually do is take about a cup of water and mix the food in there before I dump it in the tank. My tank is large, so it is hard to get the food close to him.
Thanks again...

You can use fresh garlic juice or I usually use the water from the jar of diced garlic my husband has in the fridge there are also garlic suppliments ypu can get at the LFS. I usually thaw the frozen in RO water then rinse with more RO water in a teabag strainer then add the selcon or garlic. I use a turkey baster (purchased for tank use only) to squirt food down in the general area of my goby. He now swims up and eats directly from the baster as soon as he sees it

My watchman eats blender mush, it's kinda thick so more substantial than brine cubes. my mush consist of shrimp, silversides, squid, lobster, little phyto, vitamin enriched brine cubes. I got lucky and know someone in the seafood store and he calls me when he's gotta throw something out. It's still before the expiration date but too close to sell. All the fish love it.
