Yellow Watchman Goby question

Hey everyone,

What are your opinions on having a top or not with a YWG?

Thanks,

I don't, but I've been LUCKY. Many have lost their gobies to the leap of faith. Put a top on it for at least the first couple of months until he gets used to the tank.

Hey,

I have had a YWG for a couple of months and he just stays on the bottom of the tank, I guess I have been lucky to, he never tries to jump out. But, I have heard of many people's jumping out of the tank to their death.

Thanks for the input. Currently building a cage that goes about 5 inches into the tank on the inside (as much space as possible without blocking my lights).

Heres a pic:

Mine liked to go over my overflow when I first got him. Now he is pretty grounded.

Hey! I thought you might be interested in reading this:

http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=115578

I just posted it yesterday. My new yellow watchman goby sat on the sand for a week, then just yesterday it started riding the waves....he's at it again today. I have a hood on my tank though...i guess it's different for each goby

How many sand critters do i need for my 28gal tank?

Is this green algae and worm good or bad?
Could my goby be in danger of choking on larger sand?

Yeah, I would wake up to mine every morning in the overflow box for the first month or so. You can just make a little eggcrate barrier for a while until he is accustomed to the surroundings.

Mine is pretty mean. He killed my blood red shrimp. He is a suspect in a sexy shrimp death. Doesn't like anything in the tank. Guards his area like some crazy nut. Can't catch him but boy if I could...

Mine is a tad aggressive since I took the clown out of the tank. But its a small portion of the tank, so the others let him have his space
