yellow tail damsel


I have one yel. tail damsel in my 65gal reef tank ,and was wondering if he or she would liks a mate . Can they get along ? Or is that a bad idea ?

I already have one and its no problm ot the other fish, it just seems curlew to
keep it w/o a mate.

My experiance with pairing, One dominates the other, keeping one smaller. I had 2 for two years some time ago, and when the dominate one laid her eggs, she killed the other one.

I had a yellow tail that was a very nice fish, never caused any problems, but I have heard reports of them going crazy and attacking others,... I think it's hit or miss.

Mellow


We have one yellow tail damsel and he is totally mellow. He was the first in the tank and based on what we had read we thought we might have to remove him when we added new fish, but he is totally laid back. We got lucky, I guess.

the yellowtail damsels are the least aggressive, but i dont know if i would add another one...they will probably fight it not introduced at/near the same time

Depends on the size of your tank. I've had one FOR EVER. It doesn't bother anything in the tank. To add anything, I have to wait till the lights or out. That part is hit or miss.
