I have a few yellow polyps, with something on the same rock that I can't identify... its a small white cylindrical thing, that looks at time to have something come out it about a inch or so..., it looks like some pieces if fishing line... don't know if you can tell by the pic...I can take a high res one and email it to someone for ID..

Is it a calcelareous tube worm? They release stringy sticky stuff to catch stuff in the water.

spaghetti worms dont make tubes.
Funny you should say that about yellow polyps. They will kill acro's where they brush against them. I wonder if a copperband butterfly will eat them?

It looks like some type of polycheate worm. I have one that is in the underside of a rock cliff, and I sometimes see it after lights out (and almost never before), from what I have found it is totally harmless. It is related to featherdusters and bristle worms and eats ditrius it can collect. I've seen mine reach almost 3" for a small bit of ditrius

Yes I have traded xenia a couple of times, and I have also grown some of his smaller corals for him and then brought them back. I have seen the rock, I go there almost every day. I just got my new 100 gallon tank from him yesterday.

Yeah I think I may have bought one of your xenia frags.... I worry about buying fish from there.. since most times I see dead fish in the tank with live one's, sure doesn't bode well for the others... Like that time he had 20 something clownfish in the tank (55 gallon) I guess... that doesn't bode well either..

How much trade in did he give you for the xenia??
