Question

Xenia Dying ??WHY??

i cant figure it out, every time i get the common pulsing xenia in my tank it takes a "roller-coaster ride" doing really good then bad then good then bad
then it all melts away? i have some elongated xenia thats doing fine as well as sps, lps, zoas, shrooms everything else is doing so good....
i dont think its a flow or lighting problem bc it was in at least 5 differant places and levels in my tank and it all dies, just that kind, i did just lose a leather toadstool i think theyre called. looked like it was rotting or somthing ill try and post a pic of that if i can as well

any insight would be a great help! im not going to get any more but am conserned there might be somthing else wrong. all my water tests are comming up fine and as i said all other corals/fish are doing great

In a mixed tank it could be chemical warfare.

xenia does really good in dirtier water... also if pH dips below 8.2 they sometimes have problems. I would just go with what is doing good in the tank.

As for me... xenia grows like a weed... so much that no one wants it in the local area and I am to the point that I may just start cutting it and flushing it. I know... sounds bad.. but it is... a weed.

xenia-pest!

my xenia seems to just keep taking off like there is no tomarrow,,if id let it
it would take over my whole friggin tank,Ive gave away all i can,so now i
let my 11 year old play with it after i cut it out.Anyway mine at least seems to like all levels in the tank, and light seems to be no factor, either
does current.Heck if your in my neighborhood id give ya a bunch!-good luck.

My pulsing Xenias were doing just as good until recently. Then they started to melt away as well.

I agree with everyone. If I could do it all over, that stuff would NEVER be in my tank. It's a weed, and if left unchecked, it would take over the whole tank!
