Wow too purple

Half of the 65W actinic that came with my 2 x 65w 24" fixture died so I replaced it with a Coralife.

The lighting really makes everything flouresce, but it is overall really purple.

If I upgrade my white side to something a lot brighter or a different spectrum will this balance this out at all. Half of the white looks like it is barely on.

The original lights had the two PC bulbs each divided up to cover four different spectrums.

so you started with 2 50/50 bulbs perry?

If wyou switch the other 50/50 to a straight 10k that will balance out the new actinic

I agree with Kelli, replace the other with a 10K

It was a split double kind of actinic and a double kind of white. Only one company that makes lights does that I guess.

I think my two spectrums of white are just too puny. A 10K hopefully will do the trick.

I bought a 50/50 and a 10k from this person on ebay. Super fast shipping and cheap! I paid $13 and free shipping.

I think i have the same as you: coralife 24 inch 65w straight pin

My new setup gives it a more white appearance and it looks like my anemone likes it a lot more.

I think what you are seeing is the difference between a 420nm and a 460nm...one is very blue and the other is very pink/purple.

Here is the 460nm:

and here is a 420nm:

Both look the same when turned off of course...I too have some eBay bulbs in one fixture and they are nice and blue 460nm...I have a Coralife fixture too with one 420nm bulb (haven't got around to changing it yet) and it is the purple/pink color. If I recall the 460nm's have a bit more PAR too.
