Wow! 8 years...

Hard to believe that we've been posting here 8 years now...

It doesn't seem that long since the systems were all NO fluorescent bulbs and daylight from a picture window for growth...

I looked a thought that me being a member for almost 3 years now was pretty crazy.

I remember the NO bulbs, cramming as many as you could get on top off the tank.

I haven't been a member of TRT that long, but I have been keeping saltwater fish for eons. AND you're right, used to be the standard was undergravel filters, no RO/DO, flourescent bulbs, heaters (no chillers), airstones, no test kits, no refractometers, etc. It's a wonder we were able to keep anything alive at all! Plus, remember we had "dead" corals, nothing living, just the white bleached rocks - - ew!

Amazing how far this hobby has come in a few years!!! YIPPEE

Tom, I will always be greatful that you came over from the old AOL board to "help me out with a question or two." Glad you liked the place; we all found a home and these 8+ years have been great

Well, you KNOW, Alice, You were the only reason I came over initially, I was speaking with Eric about this very subject a few months ago, that and something about "How many Naugas does it take..."

Somewhere I have a photograph circa 1993 of a wooden hood with 8 NO 72" fluorescent bulbs in it and a pair of 36" long flat glass mirrors behind it to act as a reflector... ...and my first MH set up that looked like a science experiment with all the wires coming out of the metal project box...

Julian Sprung with hair and the color of the week...

Larry Jackson with his big skimmer and the plans and the original Purple Monster.
