would this work as a moon light

I was trying to find some blue leds I have somewhere, and found a blue neon light.
would this be the same idea as the led?
is it spectrum or output thats good with the standard blue led?

think I should experiment with it?
I also have a white neon tube.

what do ya think?

Thanks
Brad

An actual neon light or a cold cathode tube like what's used in computer cases and car decorative accesories? I personally use a blue cold cathode tube that I got on e-bay for next to nothing and It's awesome at night, Don't know about a nean bulb though.

hooked it up lastnight and it looks nice, it is a little brighter than I want to so I'm going to move it up in the canopy so it just reflects into the tank.
I'll post a pic when done.
