would a 38 gallon sump tank be to big for my 75 gallon stand?

I currently have a sealife systems wet/dry that I want to replace with a bigger tank so I can fit my skimmer and other things comfortably. Now the question is if a 38 gal (36 x 12½ x 17) is to big for my 75 gal stand (48 x 17) I have a mag 12 that I have setup externally and a genx is on the way. Can it be done? What do you guys think? I might want to do a refugium or something maybe later down the line and would like to have the option (room) available. Also if anyone had pics on how they set up their plumbing, it would be helpful. Just so I can get an idea on where to place things in my stand. Thanks again!

This link is to the 20 gal tank I made a sump with a fuge. I have not seeded the fuge yet. but the sump works good. I had a small mirco bubble prob. and made a couple of changes but for the most part it was installed as you see it.
