Hi

While a number of worms can and do take a swim...

Some bristleworms turn into swarmers (sometimes they can be called 'epitokes') ---where you have them turn into swimming egg cases. Sometimes they die completely afterward, and sometimes enough is left over to regenerate into a whole worm.

The swimming motion is very rapid and can appear like a corkscrew motion, when it is actually snakelike.

hth,
