Worm, or Algae??

I have discovered this worm looking thing coming from all my LR and other various areas. I cannot get a picture as its small and moves a lot. It is attached at one end and flows around like crazy, white in color with tentacles that are very short (ladder like) that cover the main stem. What could this be and is it good.

I have conducted a lot of research and cannot find any photos of this, I am guessing I am just not digging hard enough. Hopefully someone can help here.

without a pic its tough...but Im going to guess its a sponge

Yeah i know the pic thing sucks. I will try tomorrow again, but no luck as of yet. Most are 1-2 inches long. I have seen them in my media reactor as well.
